The concept of the Str8balla movement originated with several people who have always been passionate about promoting the sport of paintball in a positive manner on and off of the playing field.

These people got into the sport in its infancy and were always proud to be part of a sport in which a "stand-up" player built a reputation for always playing with integrity and promoting the sport positively in an effort to help the sport grow.

Conversely, in the early days of paintball, a player who cheated in any way was "branded" and looked down upon by the majority of the players.

In the early days, the vast majority of paintball participants, industry leaders, etc. worked very hard to ensure that integrity was a primary part of the sport. The industry has gone through numerous changes since those early days and unfortunately the most negative change has been that the number of players who feel that it is necessary to cheat to win has increased rather than decreased.

There are far too many players today who think that it is "cool" to cheat, get drunk and/or high, trash hotel rooms, argue and fight with referees, "bonus ball" other players, curse on and off the playing fields, and in general behave in a manner that will eventually lead to the sport's demise.

Younger players in any sport tend to idolize and emulate the actions and mannerisms of the professional players in their chosen sport, and unfortunately, there are far too many "professional" players in paintball who set a horrible example for the younger players who are then extending that same negative image to their local fields and the local community.

We believe that the negative image these players have presented to the general public has been a part of the reason for the sport's loss of new business in the past two or so years.

We felt that an effort to make a positive change in the sport was timely and necessary.

The mission of the founders of the Str8balla movement is to create an "army" of players who have the maturity and strength of character to combat any and all negativity toward the great sport of paintball.

Our goal is to positively affect the growth of paintball in general in any and every way we can.
